Dog bites news anchor on live TV

Posted on Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at 8:32 pm

An Argentine mastiff that was rescued from a frozen lake bit a Denver news anchor on the face on live television.

The woman was interviewing the firefighter who saved it as well as his owner when the dog bit her as she bent down to pet it. The three year-old, 85 pound mastiff was taken by animal control and will be quarantined for ten days. The anchor was taken to the hospital where she underwent reconstructive surgery.

The dog’s owner was cited for failing to have it on a leash and for not having it properly vaccinated. The woman’s surgery was successful, and she is expected to return to the studio in a few weeks.
