Faulty Health Drink Causes New Jersey Woman’s Death

Posted on Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at 9:54 pm

A faulty batch of Gary Null’s Ultimate Power Meal has led to the death of an 88-year-old New Jersey woman. The woman’s family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the makers of the health drink.

In November 2009 the woman began drinking the herbal drink and continued to drink it over a three month period, ending in January 2010. During that time she had consumed roughly 60 drinks, all at the recommended serving amounts. The makers of the health drink had acted negligently with one of their batches and added an extreme amount of Vitamin D. A normal drink should contain 1000 units of Vitamin D, but the drinks that were part of the defective batch contained one million units of Vitamin D.

The woman suffered kidney problems as well as heart problems before her passing, which has been attributed to Vitamin D poisoning. Other users of the product have begun to come forward, claiming similar problems with their health. The wrongful death lawsuit was filed in Manhattan, New York.
