Four suspects from Newark who attempted to fill a fake prescription for liquid codeine have been arrested after they fled from police.
A suspicious pharmacist notified New Rochelle police, but the suspect fled once law enforcement showed up at the pharmacy. The getaway car went on to Interstate 95 and then back near North Avenue where they struck an unmarked police vehicle.
The officer inside, along with his K-9 bloodhound, suffered minor injuries due to the crash. All four suspects were captured and face felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a forged instrument. The driver has been charged with reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
