Pedestrian killed in Edison accident

An Edison woman was killed in a pedestrian accident after she was struck by a car on Route 1.
According to authorities, the 21-year-old woman was walking toward her place of employment at a child care center and was crossing the roadway on a red light when she was struck.
She was struck by a 25-year-old woman who car went off of the highway after the collision and she crashed into a utility pole before flipping over and landing on multiple other cars. The highway was closed for several hours after the accident.
Pedestrian accidents can cause serious injury and change the lives of many people, our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victims.
