A 32-year-old woman was killed in a two-car accident on Route 77 in Elk Township.

The woman’s vehicle was heading down Fislerville Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign at an intersection. Her car then collided with a truck owned by Peterbilt. The impact caused her car to be pushed several feet.

The truck driver was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency officials. There have been no charges filed and the accident remains under investigation.

The accident occurred the day after a story ran in the newspaper about the dangers of this intersection.
