Teenage cyclist injured in bicycle-car accident

According to the Westwood Police Department, a 15-year-old River Vale teenager was injured when a vehicle driven by a 51-year-old man struck him along Westwood Avenue on Saturday, May 8.

The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Oak and Westwood avenues.

The teen suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Police investigation has turned up no impairment or criminality on the part of the driver, who was fully cooperative  during questioning.
