New Bill: Cite Distraction Cause in Accident Reports

Posted on Friday, March 5th, 2010 at 5:48 pm

A new bill being introduced in the New Jersey state legislature will require ticketing police officers to note the cause of the driver’s distraction in accident reports. If you or someone you love has been injured in an Edison car accident, the attorneys of Levinson Axelrod may be able to help get you the compensation you deserve.

If the new law passes, officers ticketing drivers following an accident will check off the cause of the distraction from a list, which will include boxes with labels such as:

  • Hair grooming
  • Eating
  • Changing the radio
  • Reading
  • Attending to a pet
  • Operating a fax machine

If you or someone you love has been injured as the result of a distracted driver, the Edison personal injury attorneys of Levinson Axelrod may be able to help you get the compensation you need. Contact us today by calling 800-346-5529.
